I am a singer, actress, speaker and agent for social change.

I am a storyteller.

For the better part of 20 years I’ve been in a band called Freshlyground. Freshlyground, a pan-African band which made its start in the early 2000’s in Cape Town. We are a multi-cultural, multi-racial, inter-generational group of musicians who espouse the values of unity, speaking out against injustice and fostering tolerance and harmony amongst all people.

As an artist my motivation has been to explore my identity, my creativity and myself fully. For myself and also to show others that we are all unique and have to be curious about our own identities, to find the reason we were put on this planet and to be the full expression of that.

I’m a trained actress who has appeared in musical productions on both the small and big screen.

I’m a poet and lyricist.

I’m a speaker: I share my story and encourage others to be curious about theirs and to share their stories with the world. We all have a story whether we are kids or prisoners or CEO’s.

I have been a judge on the a’cappella show The Sing Off and guest judge on Idols, guest coach on The Voice and in all those circumstances I have encouraged uniqueness and a good work ethic in the contestants.

I’ve done a lot of cool stuff and I feel I have just begun to scratch the surface of who I’m meant to be.

Writing songs. Telling stories. Living my life. I’m checking it out.

I’m “doing ME”… one day at a time!

Thanks for visiting my site.
